The Food Cube

Image
Okay. I have the wonderful distinction, if you can call it that, of having my cube directly across from the department 'food cube' . That means every time there is a birthday, special day, retirement, bahmitzvah, ect... someone brings some sort of food-stuff product in, a mass email goes out to the department, and the next thing you know, there are 30 seemingly starved women huddled around the 'food cube' . It's a scene not much unlike a mass of vultures awaiting their chance to devour some recently deceased critter on the side of the highway. It's not that I have anything against bringing in snacks for special occasions, a cake for someone's birthday, or a bunch of pizzas to celebrate some company achievement. What bothers me is that it's completely distracting for that many people to be hanging out so close to my cube. Does this make me a bad, anti-social person? I don't know. Maybe I'm just easily annoyed.

Snow... ughhhh... what's it good for? Absolutely NOTHING!!!!

Well, it looks as if winter left us for a while, only to sneak back up on us and scream, "PSYCHE!" Okay, I guess I shouldn't complain. There was only about an inch of snow covering everything when I got up.... nothing major. Life is still slowly waltzing by here in Ohio. We have three months left with the inlaws... I really cannot wait to move. On Sunday, we went and checked out a nice little Cape Cod in Westerville. I think it was a little out of our price range, but it seemed to have everything that we were looking for! All we would need would be about 25K extra dollars in the bank account!!! Cape Cod Open House We also went and "interviewed" a buying agent with Coldwell-Banker. He seemed like a nice enought guy, but we are going to check out a couple of other Realtors before plunking all our chips down on red, so to speak. Last week, Kate booked a fantastic beach house in North Carolina for us! We plan on taking a much needed coastal vacation this August. Chr...

People Who Suck

People Who Suck This is actually quite funny. I'm sure that I fall into several catogories on this site's "Hit List".

Weekend is here!

Thank God it's Friday! I'm so jazzed that I'm going to be leaving work here in like 2 minutes. Actually after I write this really short and really to the point blog entry. This has been the longest damn day ever! Peace out.

Roger's Blog

Roger's Blog I guess this guy's quest has been short lived. Maybe he's taken up something a little easier, like stamp collecting. =)

Saturday, Feb 12th

Dropped Kate off at Starbucks today. She's working till' 8. Dropped by the Dublin Library to return some stuff... picked up about 5 more CDs and a few DVD's. I swear, the library is the best place on earth to get free stuff... well borrow stuff anyway. I picked up Alice in Chains Live, The Ravonettes, Jeff Buckley Live, some miscillaneous techno CDs and a Cure CD for Kate. Also got Secret Window, Hurley Burley, and They on DVD. Hopefully I'll make some time to watch them.

February 1st

It's a little after nine on a Tuesday. Kate's in the bath. I'm on the computer. But I'm sure you figured that...The computer part that is. I've decided to pursue a degree in Web Design or a related field. Now I just have to decide what school I want to attend and what exactly my career path will be. Kate and I checked out a few houses over the weekend, and met a fairly nice agent. We're totally up in the air about where we want to live. Delaware feels like home, and we really miss it. But Delaware is 20 miles from the outskirts of Columbus. Sometimes, when Chris was out, we wouldn't get home until 7:00, so there's definitely a convenience factor to think about. We also saw a few houses in Westerville. One was really nice on the outside, but I think the inside needed some work, and the basement was straight out of a Wes Craven movie. The other house we saw was really cheap. REALLY CHEAP. I guess the old lady who had owned it died, and she hadn't updat...

6AM

It's early. The coffee is on. I'm wondering though if it will jump-start my weary bones enough to escape the grip of this sleep-hangover. Bah.

Chris

Didn't call me tonight. =(

iTunes

I have to say, I love iTunes. It's the perfect music application. It's simple, cross-platform compatable, and works so well with an iPod (if you can afford one of those). Of course, it's an Apple product, which makes it that much better! I downloaded iTunes here at work because I got sick of messing around with Windows Media Player and Real Player. I can check out CD's from the vast selection in the Columbus Library system...bring them to work with me...encode them into tiny Mp3 files and have hours of music without the stigma of having illegally downloaded anything! Then I can set up nice little playlists of what I want to hear on iTunes... or I can stream one of the radio stations. Currently, my favorite is KEXP out of Seattle. They play mostly college/alternative music.

Driving to work

Another winter day coming up tomorrow. I can hardly wait.

Saturday

It's Saturday and the roads are frozen all to hell. I worry about Kate driving back and forth from Starbucks... I wanted to take her but she wouldn't have it. I doubt we will be doing much this afternoon though. They say there will be 2-5 inches of snow fall by the end of the day. Hopefully, Spring will show up soon and blow all this crap out of here! Kate just called my cell to let me know she made it to work okay. Lemme just say I about had a heart attack when the phone rang! It's 7:20 here and so quiet you could hear a pin drop...and then my phone just starts playing "Maleguena" out of the blue! Okay, I'm rambling... Time to go work on our site.

Talking...

Well, we are talking today. Much better. I will admit she made some very good points. There are alot of things I need to take seriously and work out in my life. On a lighter note, I want Vaqueros. Mexican sounds really good for some reason. I imagine though that we are going to end up having salad or something from Krogers. Didn't really watch much of the inaguration coverage on TV the last few days. I still cannot believe that G.W. wasted 45 Million dollars on a party. I guess he hasn't serviced that many balls since his pledge days at Yale. *smirk*

I love her but right now I miss her. =(

Office Space

Image
I hate my cube. It's right on the end of an aisle. I always feel like people passing by have a clear view of whatever I may be doing at any given time. This makes for a slightly uncomfortable work situation...especially when attempting to waste company time on the Internet or email, which by the way, I DON'T DO VERY OFTEN (if anyone in I.T. HAPPENS to be reading my Blog!). On the upside though... I do have a nice flat panel monitor that is easy on eye strain, pictures all around, and my HUGE 3X5 Florida State Seminole flag always hanging conspiciously behind me!

Leo Strikes Again

Image
I turned around from the computer desk a few seconds ago to see Leo scratching on the very expensive comforter on our bed. Apparently he believes that it is his litter box. I'm so pissed right now.

First Post

This is the first post in my personal diary. Where do I start? Who knows? It's Monday, Martin Luther King Day here in the U.S. I'm off of work. I've spent several days now working on our webpage in Dreamweaver. I'm getting frustrated. Ugh. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do with this blog. I was thinking about writing my life story. Okay, that would be the first two paragraphs... not real interesting stuff... but really, who's is?
