Moving Day

I took off work today to get most of my stuff moved out of the apartment. A friend will come over this evening to help with the heavy crap - thank God for returned favors. It's going to be an interesting two months. I'm moving in with a friend and his wife who just bought a house in Gahanna and Kim is going to be living with her mom again. There are a few reasons for this... we've both decided we need a break for now. It's not really a splitting up, but just "alone" time. I feel we've come to a point in our relationship where we feel too much like roommates and not enough like a couple. This has nothing to do with the miscarriage - it's been on the books for two months now. Also, this gives us both an opportunity to put a good amount of money into savings rather quickly. The cost of living here in Westerville, coupled with the expensive apartment we are in has made it difficult to save, and created a paycheck to paycheck lifestyle that I simply cannot ...

Ten Albums that Most Impacted My Life (Part 1)

Image
I've been thinking about writing this a few weeks now, but really never had the free time to sit down and expound upon the idea. Music creates the soundtrack to our lives. It gives us hope, it feeds our emotions . It connects us. So without further ado, these are the ten albums that most impacted my life. 1. Michael Jackson - Thriller What can't be said about this album. It came out in my early teens and thanks to heavy rotation on MTV, it became the biggest album of the decade. It doesn't matter how cool you think you are now, you know you loved this album. Jackson didn't follow trends, he created them. Remember the parachute pants and red zipper jackets? Remember how all the kids you hung out with were teaching each other how to moonwalk and pop? Yeah, I knew you did. Remarkably, I didn't see the "controversial" Thriller video until a year or two after it was released. I had to sneak over to one of my few friends' house that were lucky enough to ge...

At a loss...

Image
I'm at a loss for words right now. Kim had to rush to the doctor this morning because she started spotting. They did an ultrasound and saw nothing. Later she started bleeding a little more heavily and she is showing the sure signs of a miscarriage. We won't know for sure until the blood tests come back on Friday. I don't know how to feel. I am just numb. It's like for once, I felt God was smiling on us. Now I think otherwise. I wonder if he even cares. I wonder if he even exists. Why would he do this if he did? I'm still getting emails from friends and family, congratulating us on our new family member. What a cruel joke. I guess we'll push on and find our way from here...

What has two thumbs and is going to be a father on July 15th?

That would be THIS GUY! I just thought I should share with everyone that Kim and I are expecting our first child together next summer. I never thought I would be having another rugrat at the age of 36, but I am very excited and look forward to opening a new chapter in our life. Now, the question is...how do I tell my 12 year old son?

Unfinished...

I watch you from the corner of my mind Drifting by like a vapor cloud That I could never capture or take in You leave my words hanging in mid-air Suspended in time and space Like a funny comic thought balloon From somewhere in the Sunday paper Only followed by three conspicious dots For they are unfinished...

Tuesday

Well, I just thought I'd drop a short blog before I run off and grab my morning Starbucks and head on into work. I found out something last night that is going to life changing for me. I won't expound upon that because we are waiting for confirmation. It's almost as if God took all of the cards I was playing with and has reshuffled them. Then pointed his finger at me and in a Nelson Muntz voice said, "Ha ha!". I will explain later. Onward!

Tires

I had to replace the tires on my Mazda yesterday. Wow...talk about sticker shock. I ended up paying $517.00, and that was for the bargain basement tires. Atleast I'll feel more comfortable with the thought of taking a road trip now.
