CNN: Bastion of liberal media bias? Not so much.

CNN reportedly hires Republican Love-Monkey Glenn Beck for prime-time slot. -Media Matters

For those of you unfamiliar with radio talk show pundant Glenn Beck, he's responsible for allowing his mouth to expunge a few of these juicy comments:

On families of the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks: "[T]his is horrible to say, and I wonder if I'm alone in this -- you know, it took me about a year to start hating the 9-11 victims' families? Took me about a year."

On Hurricane Katrina survivors who remained in New Orleans: "And that's all we're hearing about, are the people in New Orleans. Those are the only ones that we're seeing on television are the scumbags -- and again, it's not all the people in New Orleans. Most of the people in New Orleans got out! It's just a small percentage of those who were left in New Orleans, or who decided to stay in New Orleans, and they're getting all the attention."

Discussing disclosures from a caller who claimed to have tortured prisoners in U.S. custody: "I've got to tell you, I appreciate your service. ... Good for you. Good for -- I mean, good for you. Is it because you did it for the country? ... I have to tell you, when all is said and done, I'm glad people like you are on our side."

On filmmaker Michael Moore: "Hang on, let me just tell you what I'm thinking. I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong?"

On the father of Nick Berg, American civilian executed in Iraq: "The want to be a better person today than I was yesterday says he's a dad, he's grieving, but I don't buy that. I'm sorry, I don't buy it. I think he is grieving, but I think he's a scumbag as well. I don't like this guy at all."

Yeah, plenty of liberal bias going on between this guy and recent hire Bill Bennett. Looks like the Foxification of CNN is nearly complete. All they need is a few flying flag graphics and a few war story shows hosted by disgraced Reagan era wingnuts.

    I don't know if a boycott would do anything, but I would definitely write in about this guy. He's a Rush Limbaugh in training...

    I do not like Glenn Beck...I once sat thru one of his appearances here because my husband is a fan. I was trying to be a good wife and got him the tickets. I tried, I really tried, but I had to get up and walk out for a while.

    I like humor, I really do but I don't find him funny. Nor do I find him accurate most times.

    Okay...time to stop the Glenn rant...thankfully we have a second tv so he can watch him in another room...

I'm a frequent reader of right wing propaganda. I'll admit that. I think there are quite a few decent, straight forward Republicans out there who run excellent commentary on their blogs. They are typically warm and open to respectful debate. Mike M. 's blog is a good example. Blognonymous has a great post on a new Washington Post chart that basically shows what Democrats have said all along... Abramhoff was lining three Republican pockets for every one Democrat pocket. But if you read sites like anti-Dem No Agenda or Espella Humanzee , you'll see how Republican apologists are trying to spin the whole "they did it too so it's okay" arguement. In fact, No Agenda makes no note of the blatent corruption happening on their side of the aisle. Typical. Still, I haven't heard squat from the MSM about Bush's $100,000 in campaign contributions received from the lobbyist. Of that $100,000, the Administration has agreed to return 6% of the amount to charity. That's kinda like donating a small portion of your bank robbery pot to the Red Cross.
