Time marches on...

It's been a little while since I have posted anything. Actually, I had several drafts that I was going to post but I ended up deleting them.

Summer is here and so is Christopher. This is his first year visiting us in a real house. He has been having a blast so far and can't wait to go to N.C. this year. His new bestest friend is a 6 year old living next door. They spend the evenings having light saber duels in the back yard and mud fights in the garden.

We also bought a family pool pass for the season and have been enjoying that on weekends. The Highland Park pool can be a little crowded, but it has plenty to do for everyone. The best thing is, it's within easy biking distance from the house so all we have to do is grab a bag of pool goodies and ride down there. Of course, this doesn't work out too well when the weather is sketchy, as it was last weekend.

During the week, Chris has been attending various camps at the Westerville Community Center. One week he'll do nothing but trips during the day. He's went to Wright Patterson AFB, COSI, State Parks, Magic Mountain Fun Center, the pool, and other places. On the off weeks, he attends a stationary camp where they have activities and games all week. This week he came home bragging about a game they played called the Pimple Pop (it has something to do with whipped cream). He's having a great time and it's much more fun to him than Kindercare was last year.

This weekend Chris and Arthur (his new friend) will be camping out in our back yard on Friday and possibly going to the pool on Saturday. Sunday we will be going up to Cleveland to attend an Indians/Mariners game and to the Museum of Natural History.

Right Wing Cheerleader of the Week Award

I'm a frequent reader of right wing propaganda. I'll admit that. I think there are quite a few decent, straight forward Republicans out there who run excellent commentary on their blogs. They are typically warm and open to respectful debate. Mike M. 's blog is a good example. However, I am convinced that there are some real nut jobs out in the blogosphere, who's primary goal is to berate and destroy any opposition to their polar ideology. Blognonymous has a great post on a new Washington Post chart that basically shows what Democrats have said all along... Abramhoff was lining three Republican pockets for every one Democrat pocket. But if you read sites like anti-Dem No Agenda or Espella Humanzee , you'll see how Republican apologists are trying to spin the whole "they did it too so it's okay" arguement. In fact, No Agenda makes no note of the blatent corruption happening on their side of the aisle. Typical. Still, I haven't heard squat from the MSM about Bush's $100,000 in campaign contributions received from the lobbyist. Of that $100,000, the Administration has agreed to return 6% of the amount to charity. That's kinda like donating a small portion of your bank robbery pot to the Red Cross.
